Curious Kiera

In the past few months, Kiera has become quite the explorer with things around the house. Amongst her daily routine of terrorizing the cats and playing in their food, she has managed to empty the wastebasket in the bathroom into the toilet, yell at people out the front window and emptying every last toy from her toyboxes onto the floor creating a hazardous play area for people who walk in her room. I think we may have a little "stewie" in the making.

Her vocabulary is growing with common greetings such as "Hi" and "buh-bye". And of course the fundamentals for any toddler, "cookie", "no no" and some other garbble that we believe to be curse words in her language which are expressed in a firm almost yelling voice.

Took the little girl state-side to go visit some friends...future boyfriend perhaps? :) Little Joey is almost the same age as Kiera and he's already climbing stairs.

Lil Girl Goes Swimming

She's swimming!

Have got the pictures yet, but the little girl went for her first swim in pool today. She was quite excited about it and was kicking up a storm. Stay tuned. :)

The poor little girl is suffering from a cold over the past few days...her nose has been running like Niagara Falls. Other than that, she's in fairly good spirits and getting more and more adorable everyday as this little personality develops.

She's actually talking even more than this now...on a regular basis. And mom's not too happy cause her first attempt at talking has been "da da da"...not "ma ma ma". :) I see some humour in this.

Latest Doctoral Review

Kiera had her 6 month visit with the doctor and all is well.

She tipped the scales at 15lbs 13oz and was measured at 26 inches. The doctor said that she's slightly above the average height for her age, and slightly below the average weight...I say we have the next supermodel on our hands here. :) Considering the amount of food she goobles down, it's surprising she only came in at the weight she did.

And the infamous Woody wagon...our grocery getter vehicle...is up for sale. We are proud owners of a new GMC Sierra and now there's not enough room in the driveway, so the Woody has to depart. :( haha

Hopefully I can get my lazy arse going and upload some of the latest pictures soon. Till then, take care.

Shark in baby's clothing...

Well, Kiera officially got her first tooth last week....and it's a sharp little thing too! It shouldn't be long before the second tooth (front and bottom) starts to poke through as well.

Still haven't had a chance to upload the new vids. Hopefully soon. :)

She's growing and talking about it the whole way!

Well, Little Miss K had her latest doctor's appointment and everything is a-ok. :) She weighted in at 13lbs 4oz and measured 25.2in.



Kiera also got a new toy this week...daddy bought her her first car. :)


And the talking! She's become quite the story teller. Here's one good video, and there should be more in the next couple weeks.

Party Animal in the making...

Not much new to report right now. Little Miss Kiera, along with her big bro and little sis, came out with Laurie and I on New Years Eve at the Piche's. The little party animal that she is stayed up until after 4:00am...and the amazing part was not a single tear was shed, not a single peep of a cry was had until probably about 3:00am. Kiera was more than happy to look around and smile at all the other party people in the house...such a good girl! :)

She is starting to get more responsive lately as well...she smiles more when talked to, and is more actively looking around when sounds are heard. I should have a video uploaded soon of her being a little chatterbox. :)

Someone's all ready for Santa...

No big updates right now. Kiera got to visit Santa for the first time, so we got her all dressed up in her Mrs. Claus outfit. :)

She's Growing!

Well, little Miss Kiera had her 2 month check up at the doctor's yesterday. She weighed in at 11 lbs and 4.5 oz. She also got her first immunization...not one of Kiera's favorite moments...one shot in each leg. She was okay with the first shot...but the second shot required some tender loving care from Mommy. :)

Six Pounds No More...

She's growing! Just got back from her regular check-up with the doctor. She gained quite a bit of weight, which is good. She's tipping the scales at 9lbs 6oz now. Length wise she hasn't changed much there...they measured her at 21 inches.

Just having a little fun with the little girl. :) Kiera's been doing well and the jaundice is basically all done with, and she got some good colour back. Much to mom's demise, she still isn't sleeping through the entire night, but she's getting better. She's grown a bit...she's still wearing the newborn size diapers, but they are starting to get a little snug...so soon we'll be able to fit into the size 1's. That's all for now...Kiera's next checkup with the doctor is in a couple weeks.

Sleep...who needs it?!?

...I sure do! And I can't even imagine how the sleep deprieved Laurie is feeling now too...crying...fussing...messy diapers...I still adore her anyway. Oh...and I'm talking about the baby there...not Laurie. :)

She's Arrived!

On September 11th 2006 at 12:24pm, our beautiful and healthy baby girl, Kiera Elizabeth Vagg, was born, weighting in at 6lbs 9oz and just a little over 20 inches long. Poor mom suffered through over 40 hours of labour before opting for the epideral...then within a couple hours, little Kiera decided to join the real world. Both Laurie's and my family are very excited.

And it goes on and on and on...

No baby yet...Laurie thought her water had broke yesterday (at Cameron's soccer championships), so we headed off to the hospital. They checked her over and sent us home...turned out it was just normal fluid discharge. Baby's heartbeat was fine with an average of about 150, but only very slight dialation of the cervix. Her labour pains have been every 10 minutes since about yesterday afternoon-ish. The duration hasn't increased but she said the pain has been gradually getting worse. We are just trying to make arrangements now for the kids to be able to go to school tomorrow in case we have to go back to the hospital tonight or early in the morning. Her past labours were 30 hours and 25 hours, so this one looks like it's gonna be long too unfortunately.

So, doesn't look like I'll be going into work this week...gonna take some time off to help out Laurie once the baby arrives and to spend some time with our new arrival. :)

3 weeks...getting close...

Last couple updates...the baby appears to be a little on the big side, but nothing to be concerned about. As of today, the baby is starting to drop, so Mommie's experiencing quite a bit of discomfort in the lower ab area.

Almost 3 weeks exactly...definately getting a little anxious.

I started some work on the new bedroom downstairs and should have most of the framing done by next week. Keeping my fingers crossed.

A quickie...

Last doctor's report...baby's a little on the big side. Ouch!

Even though Laurie's has been fortunate enough not to gain a lot of weight during the pregnancy, the tummy still continues to grow...this is a good thing. :)

Less than 4 weeks left.

Seven Weeks...Mommy's getting anxious...

It's just a little over 7 weeks left. Laurie's getting anxious now to have the baby...can't say I blame her. Mom's been tired and sore a lot lately, and the heat has been hard on her too...Thank goodness for air conditioning. We met with the delivering doctor already and things are progressing well.

Not really an update...

I haven't wrote anything in a bit, so I thought I would put in a mini update for now...Well, Laurie has been tired and feeling a little nauseous lately...which unfortunately for her is pretty much expected. The baby is still doing well. The kicking is starting to slow down a bit as there starts to be less and less space to move around in there.

The next doctor's appointment is with the delivering doctor...the family doctor is out of the pic now basically till after the birth.

That's all...2 months and 16 days left...not that I'm counting. :)

Ouch...my head!

Not much new right now. Mommy is doing fine. I had my ear down to her belly yesterday to see if I could here the baby or any movement...and sure enough, WHACK!...she kicked me in the head!

Latest Pics...

Here's some pictures...you can see the heart and the kidneys. When you're actually live at the ultrasound, you can see and hear the little heart beating and the legs kicking away.

Kicking but no screaming...yet...

Well...we had ultrasound number 3 yesterday. Everything is fine. I still have to scan in the ultrasound pics, but they're not much different than a week ago. :) I had the pleasure of seeing the baby do the caberet...kicking like crazy and waving. They couldn't say for certain, but the gender is still looking to be a girl. :)
